As of June, 26 the young Surinamese painter Edke (Miquel Keerveld) opens his one mans exposition at the Outdoormuseum Fort Nieuw Amsterdam.
His arttheme is the contract between identity and image. A image is shaped by oneself and the environment. Identity is the core of our beeing.
Quote of Edke:
'(....) Suriname is a young nation, a developing country with possibilities and chances.
I am stimulated by this dynamic vicinity to live my dreams. With self-confidence i reach my goals. My artworks are an invitation to anyone who wants to take the trouble to see the world trough my eyes.'
